Once More Unto the Rift

This is an experimental attempt at me backing up a fanfic I wrote onto Neocities. For my first attempt, I'm going to put the entire thing on one page.

Chapter 1

Cellbit was pacing the Ordo Theoritas rooms, angrily muttering to himself in Portuguese.

“The eggs,” he kept repeating. “The eggs, the eggs, the eggs.”

His reverie was interrupted by some very unconvincingly stealthy breathing behind him.

“What do you want?” Cellbit asked the interloper.

“How did you know I was here?” Slimecicle asked. “I was super sneaky!”

“No you weren’t,” Cellbit said.

“OK, fine, maybe I was a little loud.” Slime sighed. “Look, I’m here because I had an idea.”

“You’ve got ten seconds before I make you leave,” Cellbit said.

Slime quivered visibly and shot his hands up.

“I know some guys who can help us find the eggs!” He spat out.

Cellbit paused.

“You remember that sexyman thing from a few months ago?”

“What are you talking about?” Cellbit asked.

“There was a big thing on the internet comparing a bunch of us,” Slime said.

“I feel like I’d know about that,” Cellbit said. “I definitely would have been included.”

“I got really far because everyone thinks I’m super hot,” Slime said. “You should’ve been there.” He paused. “Point is I met some people there. They’re really good at Minecraft. I mean, really really good.”

“Who are you talking about?” Cellbit asked.

“Have you ever heard of the Hermits?”

Slime and Cellbit had made their way to Tazercraft’s region, where Pac, Mike, and Tubbo were hard at work on something that most closely resembled a lava dispenser.

“Whoa there, Tubbo, what the fuck is this?” Slime shouted.

“Oh, this should give us several million pieces of chainmail armor per hour,” Mike said. “I’m annoyed. It’s a bit too underpowered.”

“Yeah, it’s not our best work,” Pac said. “I’d do some more, but this is really Mike’s thing.”

“Dude!” Mike said. “You’re really carrying right now.”

“Look, be happy and fulfilled later,” Slime said. “I need you to go do something really complicated for me.”

“We like complicated,” Pac said.

“Good, because we need to cross dimensions,” Slime said.

As Tubbo and Tazercraft were finishing up some schematics next to Philza’s house, Niki wandered by.

“What are you guys doing?” she asked.

“Slime wants us to open a portal to another server,” Cellbit said over some background greetings from the others. “He thinks if we call up this other server they can help us get our eggs back. Something like the Helmets?”

“Hermits!” Tubbo shouted helpfully. “We’re going to ask Etho to save us! Also, hi Niki!”

“You guys are going to Hermitcraft?” Niki asked.

“I just know they can find the eggs,” Slime said. “I believe it! In my bones!”

“I ate a bone once,” Cellbit added helpfully.

“I’m not going to unpack that,” Niki said.

“Probably best not to,” Tubbo agreed.

As Pac and Mike were running some tests on their portal, they saw the shadows of wings engulf the ground beneath them. They looked up to see Philza Minecraft descending from the heavens.

“What are you guys doing to the wall?” Phil asked.

“We’re just building,” Mike said. “It’s a little mad science.”

“Don’t worry about it,” Pac added.

“Yeah, we’re fine, Phil,” Slime said. “Just your usual, everyday, QSMP crimes!”

“We’re trying to get to Hermitcraft,” Tubbo said. Pac sighed.

“OK, can you not do this by my house?” Phil asked. “I don’t want anything to blow up.”

“Look, I’m 80% sure this’ll be fine,” Tubbo said.

“80%’s good enough for me,” Slime helpfully added. “Let’s go call Mumbo Jumbo!”

“Why is he here?” Phil asked.

“I’m not sure,” Tubbo said.

“It’s probably safe,” Pac said. “Cellbit, do you wanna turn it on?”

“Can we talk about the 20%?” Cellbit asked.

“Yeah?” Pac asked.

“What happens if it breaks?” Cellbit asked.

“We’ll all die horribly,” Pac said. “It’ll be fun!”

“Yeah, I don’t like that,” Cellbit responded.

“Hey, we came this far,” Mike said. “Plus, if this works, we get Richas back.”

“OK, I’ll push the button,” Cellbit said. He pressed a stone button, and the portal went alight.
